About Me
Hello, my name is Thomas Oak. I am a 32 year old banker from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. i am sure that the main reason you have decided to view my page is so that you can get a better understanding of me and my life. Well, I intend to give you as much information about myself as I can and that I think you have permission to know.
Home Life
These are my three wonderful children, Jacob Marshall, Charles Andrew, and Christine Rose. Unfortunately, my beautiful wife Anne passed away 7 months ago. But we have been blessed with a very loving housekeeper Dorothy who helps me take care of the children when I am working. I do not know if I will be able to replace my Anne, but we are living each day the way she would want us to, with smiles on our faces and keeping our feet moving forward.
This is our lovely home, which we have recently redecorated. Our children love to play in the front yard with all of the beautiful trees [unfortunately, this picture was taken in the winter so you cannot see the leaves that are usually on them]. My wife and I bought it from a family friend immediately after our marriage, and quickly filled it with our favorite posessions and soon after that our 3 children. Even though my wife is no longer with us, I still keep her drawing room the way she left it so that there is a permemant memorial to her, and so that my children can always remember her.
Employment Details
The Bank of the United States
420 Chestnut Street
Philadelphia, PA
I am currently working at the Bank of the United States' main headquarters located in Philadelphia. We work with depositing federal funds, and providing credit to expanding businesses so that they can continue to grow and help the economy in the process. We have almost 30 branches located across the country, and I am happy to be apart of this business. Although lately we have fallen under hard times with the opposition from President Jackson, and the threat of losing my job if he decides to get rid of the Bank. But I hope that he will see the error in his thinking, and realize what a crucial part of the economy the Bank of the United States has become.
Political Opinions
I am a National Republican, and therefore supported Henry Clay. He was very involved with the continuation of the Bank of the United States, unlike Jackson, and I feel that he shares more of the same political ideas that I do. It is unfortunate that Jackson won the election again, and especially how badly Clay was defeated my him in the process. I fear that with Jackson in office for another term, it will have major negative effects on the Bank, and that it would affect my family as well as others who are also working in my position.
Education
I was extremely fortunate to be able to attend Yale University to further my education. My family was not the wealthiest, so I helped as much as I could to pay for the school by working odd jobs for relatives and family friends. With that and the help of my parents, I got my higher education and was therefore able to get the excellent job I have now. I studied the basics, arithmetic, literature, and religion. I also made many new aquantences at Yale that enabled me to move higher up in the workforce as well. I am glad to say that I went to school and have a successful career unlike the others who are stuck at the mills and factories because of their lack of education.
Religion
I am a proud to be a religious man, and to say that I strongly encourage my children to embrace the word of God. We go to church services every Sunday and also use religion in our daily life, unlike some people who think that there are more important things in their life.
